HIPPEAS, the organic chickpea puff brand, looks set to build on its unprecedented success in 2017, with a new brand listing win to kick off the year. Its best-selling flavour, Sweet & Smokin’ will launch into Co-op on 16th January, with 1,500 distribution points across the supermarkets’ estate.
Since the brand launched in August 2016, demand has been building for its range of organic chickpea puffs. In fact, HIPPEAS is now the fastest growing free from snack brand in the UK and the Co-op announcement follows a hat-trick of listing wins, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda, at the end of 2017.
The HIPPEAS range offers consumers a healthier snacking alternative to traditional crisps. Not only are the chickpea puffs organic but also vegan, gluten-free and packed with protein and fibre. Plus each flavour in the five-strong range has 91 or less calories a pack.

2017 not only saw a host of new listings for the brand, with it now stocked in over 10,000 outlets, but a raft of investment. In October, the brand announced a $10 million investment from CAVU Venture Partners to scale expansion, which followed investment from Strand Equity Partners, a leading US growth equity fund founded by Seth Rodsky, and Leonardo DiCaprio earlier in the year.
