Tangerine Confectionery, the creator of a wide range of well-loved, retro confectionery brands, is providing must-list Halloween confectionery to help retailers boost profits during the spooky season.
Back by popular demand, the Sweet Champions Halloween Assorted 200g Bag (MRRSP £1) is predicted to be a top seller for the second year running, following a hugely successful launch in 2016. It features a selection of the UK’s favourite sweets – a mixture of mini Whams (strawberry, sour apple & original raspberry flavours), Fruit Salad Lollies and Black Jack Lollies.
Sold in Halloween themed packaging to capture the attention of shoppers, the 200g bag will be available from September in convenience stores nationwide and selected supermarkets, including Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s.
Tangerine Confectionery’s Halloween offering also includes the Sweet Champions 750g Sharing Carton, in a brand new format for 2017, set to make it stand out on retailer’s shelves. Featuring the firm’s iconic favourites, the Sharing Carton includes brands such as Wham, Fruit Salad, Refresher and Dip Dab.
The demand for mixed bags and assortments at Halloween is as high as ever. Assorted packs of sweets grew by 14 per cent YOY in the week of Halloween, demonstrating that shoppers are still looking for simple solutions for ‘give outs’ and party sharing at this time of year.
Retailers are urged to stock up on confectionery ahead of the season and opt for products that feature classic Halloween colours and graphics, to create the perfect Halloween treat and sharing solution for consumers.
Russell Tanner, marketing and category director at Tangerine Confectionery, said: “Halloween has become the third biggest retail event behind Christmas and Easter – Halloween sugar confectionery is worth £6.4m and in the week of Halloween, it accounts for 14 per cent of total sugar sales (just under £1m).
“Our eye-catching themed Sweet Champions Halloween Bag and Sweet Champions Sharing Carton are must-list products, perfect for trick or treaters. They will also allow families and fans of retro favourites to buy a sharing bag of some of our best loved sweets to treat themselves and others.”
