Morgenrot launch Quilmes cans at home

As interest in South American cuisine and culture continues to grow, Manchester-based importer Morgenrot has launched Argentina’s most famous beer, Quilmes Lager, in new 355ml cans.

Tapping into the growing trend for cans in the ON and OFF trade, the new chic cans will be showcased for the first time to the UK trade at Morgenrot’s exclusive ProjectHOME tasting being held on September 27th.

Synonymous with the finest cuisine, culture and sport of Argentina, the sleek and stylish cans are available in cases of 24 x 355ml, costing approximately £24.70.

John Critchley, Morgenrot’s Commercial Director, said:

“Quilmes is an Argentinian icon, known and loved around the world so we’re thrilled to be able to extend our relationship with the brewery and launch this new format to the UK market. The development of cans, which a few years ago would never have been seen in pubs, bars and restaurants, has been one of the stand-out beer trends so we’re confident the new line will see strong interest.”

Argentina’s Finest

Set up in 1888 by German immigrant Otto Bemberg, the much-revered Quilmes brand continues to dominate the Argentinean market today as it closes in on its 130-year birthday.  Brewed only in Argentina, the brewery uses the finest hops from Patagonia, barley malt grown in the Pampas and pure water from the stunning Andes mountains to ensure absolute authenticity, provenance and taste quality.

Quilmes Lager 355ml Can – Brewed to 4.9%, Quilmes is a classic lager that reflects its brewing heritage: golden colour, rich texture, refreshing light hoppy taste with a crisp, dry thirst-quenching finish.

Morgenrot’s ProjectHome event takes place from 10-8pm at Manchester’s art and culture hub – HOME, 2 Tony Wilson Place, First Street, Manchester, M15 4FN.

In addition to the launch of Quilmes cans, the event will also feature:

  • The latest launch from Sweden’s infamous Pang Pang brewery
  •  A ‘Best of Northern Spain’ tasting featuring wine, beer and Sidra
  • An ‘Off the Beaten Track’ wine focus with special visits from unique winemakers.
  • A ‘Spanish Craft Beer’ showcase including a selection of the coolest breweries from Spain, Basque and Catalonia.
  • A #Pourfection session to test people’s perfect serve skills with Germany’s Krombacher brewery plus a special low alcohol tasting
