Cornwall-based Sharp’s Brewery has announced the launch of its latest limited release beer, an IPA ‘Rye Rock’ (3.8% ABV). As part of Sharp’s commitment to creating innovative and exciting flavours, the new beer is now available across on-trade outlets throughout mainland UK until 30th June 2017.

As with previous limited releases from Sharp’s Brewery, five pence from every pint of ‘Rye Rock’ sold will be donated to the Blue Flag charity, which works to keep Cornish beaches safer and clean.

Rye Rock is a session IPA, which blends the spice of specialist rye malts with sweeter caramel notes. The taste is complemented by a unique citrus bitterness, paired with orange and grapefruit scents. The limited release brew provides big aromas and flavours without an excessive ABV, to provide an accessible ale.

James Nicholls, Senior Brand Manager at Sharp’s Brewery comments:

“We’re very excited to announce the launch of Rye Rock, our latest limited release. With the warmer weather finally here, this new refreshing brew is the perfect beer to enjoy on a summer’s day. At Sharp’s we’re always exploring the diversity of our portfolio, and our limited releases are a fantastic way of producing exceptional products to sit alongside our much-loved favourites like Doom Bar and Atlantic.

“We are also proud of our continued support of the Blue Flag initiative, a fantastic charity that supports beaches in Cornwall and across the country. Over the last 2 years we have raised over £28,000 from sales of our ‘Limited Releases’ to the Blue Flag charity which promotes and supports our coastal economy, and we look forward to building on this success throughout 2017.”

The Blue Flag initiative encourages sustainable development of beaches across the world, and is owned and run by the non-governmental organisation, the FEE.
