SkinnyPop, the US popcorn sensation, is exploding into the UK market with its first listing in 1500 Costa Coffee stores. Having wowed the US and become a snack-lovers staple now worth $350 million at retail, Skinny Pop launches this month in UK Costa Coffee shops in Sweet & Salty 23g impulse packs with an RRP of £1.00.
The UK arrival of SkinnyPop is an exciting development for Herefordshire premium snacks brand Tyrrells, as they launch the jewel in the crown of parent company Amplify Snack Brand’s portfolio.
Popped at Tyrrells Court Farm, the SkinnyPop range boasts the lowest fat and calorie claim within the premium ready-to-eat, oil popped category.
The SkinnyPop UK range consists of Sea Salt and Sweet & Salted impulse and sharing packs, multipacks and a pipeline of innovation inspired by USA launches.
Cath White, Marketing Manager for SkinnyPop UK commented; “Building on the phenomenal success story in the USA, the SkinnyPop launch allows us to bring a distinctive and clear brand proposition to UK consumers, within a category that has become increasingly cluttered in the last 18 months. We believe popcorn consumers fall into two distinct categories – those looking for an honest, better for you option and others motivated by the more indulgent, movie night in sharing occasion. With its enhanced popcorn portfolio, Tyrrells can offer retailers a compelling offer for both”.
Skinny Pop Sweet & Salty is now available in all Costa Coffee shops nationwide and will roll into UK and European retailers during summer 2017. SkinnyPop will also be launching in Co-op stores later this month.
