Little Dish – the maker of proper food for kids – has unveiled three delicious and nutritious new toddler meals in response to consumer demand for more convenient, healthy food options for young children.
The three new ‘nutritionist approved’ meals, which include Sausage & Beans Pie, Moussaka and Mild Chicken Tikka, have been made to give parents fresh inspiration at mealtimes and encourage toddlers to widen their repertoire.
Dean Brown, Little Dish Managing Director, explains: “We are hugely passionate about making nutritious, convenient food for young children more widely available in the UK, and providing a wider variety of meals for parents to choose from. Our meals contain high quality ingredients with no additives or preservatives and we never add salt or sugar to our recipes. Parents can rely on us to make proper food, with interesting tastes and textures, that meets the highest nutritional standards.”
New Sausage & Beans Pie contains tender British pork sausage meat bites and haricot beans in a tasty tomato sauce, topped with potato and veg mash. Little Dish has taken great care to ensure this mash-topped pie is made especially for toddlers. The tender sausage bites are just the right size for little mouths and provide an interesting new texture to explore, while the haricot beans, thyme and sage are exciting new flavours to try.
The creamy new Moussaka is sure to become a firm favourite with toddlers. It contains tender British lamb mince with small pieces of soft aubergine and tomatoes, topped with sliced potatoes plus a layer of cheesy béchamel sauce. Red lentils have been added for extra fibre and oregano, cinnamon and nutmeg are interesting new tastes to explore.
Mild Chicken Tikka completes the line up. This delicious curry is a great way to introduce young children to spices including turmeric, coriander, ginger and cumin. It contains tender bite-size pieces of British chicken in a mildly spiced tomato sauce on a bed of fluffy long grain rice.
Like all meals in the award-winning pots & pies range, the new recipes have been approved by nutritionist and Mum, Lucy Jones, to ensure they are perfectly nutritionally balanced for toddlers.
Little Dish Nutritionist, Lucy Jones, explains: “Introducing little ones to a wide variety of tastes and textures from a young age is an essential part of developing a healthy palate, and helps lay the foundations for life-long healthy eating habits.
“These delicious new meals are packed with interesting veg – like aubergine and butternut squash – mild spices – like cinnamon, turmeric and cumin – and more challenging textures – like long grain rice, haricot beans and tender pieces of meat – for little ones to explore.”
As you’d expect from Little Dish, the new meals contain at least one of a child’s recommended five-a-day, are made using 100% natural ingredients, are low in salt and contain no added sugar, additives or preservatives. Plus they provide a source of protein and contain meat from local UK farms.
The nutritious new recipes have also been approved by a panel of Tiny Tasters – and their parents – before they were let out of the kitchen.
Little Dish’s Sausage & Beans Pie, Mild Chicken Tikka and Moussaka join 11 other delicious meals for one to three year olds in the award-winning* pots & pies range.
