Tangerine’s cosmic beans set to explode onto shelves

Tangerine Confectionery, the creator of a wide range of much-loved retro confectionery lines, has burst into 2017 with a bang, introducing a new member to its Wham family – Wham Bamz: Cosmic Jelly Beans.

Created to deliver an ‘out of this world’ experience, each single serve pack of Wham Bamz contains four sour flavours; cola, apple, lemon and the original sour raspberry. The crunchy shell and sour jelly centre ignite a tangy taste explosion fundamental to the Wham DNA.

The classic Wham brand is worth £1.70m with value growth of 12.9%* and jelly beans are growing at +37% in kids singles so this unique proposition is perfectly positioned to bring some excitement to the category.

Russell Tanner, head of marketing at Tangerine Confectionery, says: “This latest wham launch is about bringing a new taste experience to the range, with the flavours and packaging that people know and love.

“When we tested the concept it was a winner with parents** which is essential in this market where treats need to be portion controlled.”

Wham Bamz will be available in Tesco and across all independent retailers including Nisa and Spa; cash and carry and wholesalers from March and will appear in ASDA from June.
