Award-winning Australian winery, McGuigan Wines, is introducing the perfect companions for cosy nights by the fire; with the launch of four hearty reds to see wine lovers through the chilly start to the year.

Adding to McGuigan’s Classic range is the Classic Pinot Noir and Classic Malbec. The Pinot Noir has rich notes of fresh ripe berries and sweet spice, and will make a delicious accompaniment to warming winter meals full of flavour and seasoning. Perfect enjoyed with dishes such as garlic and herb pork tenderloins or creamy mushroom stroganoff.

The Classic Malbec embodies the bold and spicy character of Argentinian Malbec, yet with a slightly lighter taste. With spiced fruit and chocolate notes, the wine is the ideal choice to accompany a Sunday roast, pairing beautifully with flavoursome red meat dishes such as roast beef or venison.

For a slightly lighter-tasting option, the Reserve Merlot is soft and mellow, with fruity flavours of plum and a velvety texture. This is the perfect wine for an indulgent evening in, whether enjoyed on its own or paired with chicken and pasta dishes.

Finally, the new Founder’s Merlot is a premium option for those wanting to impress friends and family. Rich berry sits alongside hints of dark chocolate and mocha, making this exceptionally smooth and sophisticated on the palate. Delicious paired with a slow-cooked stew, the wine can be drunk straight away but will also age nicely if being saved for a special occasion.

The four new wines are available in Sainsbury’s now.
