Aldi unveils new chilled seafood lines

Discount supermarket Aldi is extending its seafood range in time for Seafood Week (7-16th October) with new lines including premium delicacies such as mussels and crayfish available in selected stores from 28th September.

The new launches will include premium Specially Selected Black Tiger Prawns (£3.75), Specially Selected Kiln Smoked Rainbow Trout (£2.99), alongside The Fishmonger Breaded Fish Family Pack (£2.99), Beer Battered Cod (£2.49), Smoked Haddock or Cod Rarebit (£2.99) and Kippers with butter (99p). The range will also include Seafood Company Mussel Meal (75p) and Crayfish Tails (£2.79).

Aldi’s Seabass Fillets won silver at the Grocer Own Label Awards 2016 and were awarded one star at the Great Taste Awards 2016, joining The Fishmonger Cod Fishcakes that also won silver at the Grocer Own Label Awards 2016.

YouTube chef, Ian Haste, said: “We should all be eating more fish, it’s crucial for our brains, bones and body.

“Many fish options are loaded with nutrients, plus high in protein, vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids; it’s great that Aldi has added these new lines to its range, making quality, great tasting fish affordable and accessible to everyone.”

Aldi’s new seafood lines will be launching in stores from the end of September to early October (Wednesday 28th September and Wednesday 12th October) just in time for Seafood Week from 7-16th October.
