Heinz has announced plans to shake up its range of tray meals for toddlers.

Re-launching with new age stage segmentation and a new sub-brand, the new Heinz Little KidzTM range has three new flavours, as well as a fresh package design.

Helping to differentiate from its existing infant feeding range, Heinz Little Kidz products are designed to meet the nutritional needs of toddlers aged 12-24 months, while the three new varieties are specifically created for toddlers aged 18-24 months.

The new meals have nutrition for each step

Available in-store now, with an RRP of £1.55, the new Heinz Little Kidz toddler tray meals include the introduction of Tomato & Mozzarella Pasta Shells, Pasta Bolognese, and Chicken & Sweetcorn Risotto flavours.

Continuing to develop toddlers’ taste buds, the new meals have nutrition for each step.

With two age stages, the Heinz Little Kidz range aims to help toddlers’ development on the way to eating the same food as mums and dads.

Each prepared meal contains at least one of babies’ five a day, and provides iron for healthy brain development.

The 18-24 months meals also contain iron, and either protein or calcium for strong bones, or a source of fibre, helping little ones to grow up healthy.

The Heinz Little Kidz range also features a new pack design, which hopes to reinforce the range’s goodness to mums.

Christina Honigfort, Heinz Marketing Manager Infant Feeding, said:

“Working closely with our nutritionists, and tracking global trends, we identified that toddlers have key stages of development between 1-3years that need to be met.

“This re-launch sees a step towards meeting toddlers’ true nutritional and developmental needs, with clear texture differentiation and just the right nutrition at each age stage, whilst the new flavours offer more variety to help little ones grow up healthy and happy.”
