The Wensleydale Creamery, producers of the Real Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese, has unveiled newly developed sliced, blended pre-packed cheeses in Morrisons, to capitalise on the emerging new market within the cheese sector.
Valued at £143m, the sliced cheese market has seen encouraging growth in the last few years, growing faster than the total cheese category.
Furthermore, over the past year, natural cheddar slices have been gaining market share at the expense of processed sliced cheese, as consumers look for quick and easy to use cheese without compromising on flavour or quality.
The Wensleydale Creamery has produced four sliced blended cheese variants which are now being sold in Morrisons stores nationwide.
The sliced cheese range includes Naturally Smoked Cheddar, Double Gloucester with Onion & Chives, Hot & Spicy Cheddar and Cheddar with Cracked Black Pepper.
The 160g packs retail at £1.89 and each pack displays a ‘try me’ serving suggestion aimed at providing consumers with meal ideas using the cheese.
