THE BAY TREE’S NEW PASSION FRUIT CURD WINS BIG AT GREAT TASTE AWARDS
The Bay Tree’s new Passion Fruit Curd has swept the board at this year’s Great Taste Awards winning four awards.
The curd has been awarded a three star Great Taste Award, Best Speciality from the South West, Ambient Product of the Year and been named one of the top 50 foods in Britain today.
It was described by the 2012 Great Taste judges as ‘delicious’ with a ‘perfect passion fruit flavour’.
Passion Fruit Curd was developed in 2010 in order to extend the existing range of curds.
It was developed to match the fruity flavour profiles of the existing curds as well as offering a twist on the curd offering within the market place.
The Bay Tree Director, Emma Macdonald said:
“We knew ourselves what a wonderful product our Passion Fruit Curd is but to receive such high industry recognition for it is really wonderful.
“Our NPD (new product development) team do a fantastic job of developing products with a depth and quality of flavour and these awards are testament to this.
Guild of Fine Food chairman Bob Farrand said:
“To achieve a 3-star grading involves at least 25 experts unanimously agreeing that the product tastes divine.
“But to be included in the Top 50 Foods in Britain meant each one had to satisfy the discerning palates of a further 25 dedicated foodies.
“These products all deliver the most extraordinary taste.”
Following The Bay Tree’s merger with Forest Products last year, Passion Fruit Curd is one of several products now available in a variety of jar formats; Bay Tree Gift Jar, Personalised Jar and Fully Bespoke Label.
