NO ADDED SALT KIDS RANGE ON SHELF IN TESCO

September 26th, 2012

No Added Salt, the UK’s first range of nutritional frozen children’s ready meals, is launching in Tesco stores nationwide from the beginning of October.

The meals have been specifically developed with a dietician to be packed full of goodness, without added salt, additives, flavours or preservatives.

No Added Salt was born with the aim to create tasty, nutritional meal choices for children.

There are two ranges available, the junior range which is designed for children aged five plus, and an infant range for one to four year olds.

Each meal has been developed with a diet for children in mind and the lines entering Tesco stores are Sausage and Mash, and Spaghetti and Meatballs.

Both come in handy portions of 300g to 350g and portion sizes are designed for children.

Priced at £2.49, No Added Salt’s range hopes to offer consumer value for money.

The full No Added Salt range includes dishes such as Spaghetti Bolognese, Penne in Tomato Sauce, Fruity Chicken Curry, Fish Pie and Chicken Casserole.

The company plans to launch and extended range next year to include Chicken Nuggets, Mini Fish Fillets and Burgers and they’ve also developed an infant range which is priced at £1.89 for 170g – 190g.

The brainchild of three working mothers, Donna Tresadern, Kay Shearing and Nikki Da Costa-Smith, it was their struggle to find healthy, convenient and tasty food that spurred them on to create a frozen ready meal range.
