LUCOZADE SPORT DEVELOPS NEW ELITE FORMULATION
Lucozade Sport celebrated 21 years of partnership with the Premier League by announcing that their sports scientists have worked with The FA and The Premier League to develop two bespoke formulations.
The formulations will be used by the England squads and across top flight domestic teams from the start of this season.
Lucozade Sport Elite has been tailored to serve the nutritional needs of the country’s best players.
Two powdered formulations of Lucozade Sport Elite have been developed for use by the players:
• Lucozade Sport Elite Performance Fuel is a matchday formulation containing a 2:1 glucose:fructose dual carbohydrate system plus a combination of five electrolytes, to replace those lost in sweat, including additional magnesium to support muscle function.
• Lucozade Sport Elite Electrolyte Plus is for tailored for training and contains a combination of carbohydrate and protein with a higher electrolyte mix for enhanced hydration.
The collaboration marks the second time Lucozade Sport has drawn on its science credentials to create a bespoke formulation, having already worked with the McLaren Group to produce drinks for Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton and the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 team.
Nutrition experts on behalf of England Rugby have also supported the development of Lucozade Sport Elite, which will be used by the England rugby teams this season.
