LEFKTRO LAUNCHES NEW CAPER AND CORNICHONS
Newly-launched tangy pickled non-pareille capers, caperberries and cornichons from Specialist olive oil and Mediterranean products supplier Lefktro Fine Foods are hitting shelves this month.
These three products are part of a new own-label Mediterranean range for sale to the wholesale food trade and have been sourced from producers in Turkey.
The products have been chosen for their flavour, texture and consistency of quality and in response to requests from customers seeking additional affordable products to add to their current orders from the company.
The products are packed in a bine and vinegar mix and come in 1kg sized catering packs.
The cornichons are small and tart with a mildly sweet taste.
They can be served as appetisers, with pate or cheese or as a garnish or as a component ingredient in salads, fish dishes and tartare sauce.
The caperberries are slightly larger than a grape in size and have a lemony flavour and are milder and less acidic taste than traditional capers.
They can be eaten like olives or used to flavour sauces or seafood dishes.
The tiny non-pareille capers are a versatile ingredient in Mediterranean cookery and are designed to be used as a topping for pizzas, in pasta sauces and also partner well with fish and meat.
