GODMINSTER LAUNCHES TWO NEW CHEESE PRODUCTS

September 6th, 2012

Godminster has launched two new products for the independent deli and farm shop market: a 1 kg of its organic brie made with organic Jersey milk and 190g pre-packaged version of its traditional organic mature Cheddar.

The 1kg organic brie will be available in three flavours: plain, with peppercorns, or with garlic and chives.

The cheeses are produced over the course of seven days, during which time they are made by Godminster’s specialist cheesemakers to a traditional method.

Organic Jersey milk is ‘set’ using vegetarian rennet and the curds are then hand-cut before being scooped into individual moulds, hand turned, and then moved into a series of drying rooms for five days to allow the flavours and creaminess to develop.

The organic mature Cheddar is the mature Cheddar made from the 70-year-old recipe.

The only difference is that the pre-packaged cheese has been cut and wrapped in Godminster’s distinct packaging and not coated in the trademark ruby wax.

Jessica Kimber-Holloway, said:

“We have created these two new products especially for the deli and farm shop market as a result of numerous requests for a large British organic brie that can be cut and sold and also for the pre-packaged organic Cheddar for people who require a slightly smaller size that they can pick up from a chiller cabinet.”
