ST AUSTELL BREWERY LAUNCHES ITS FIRST CIDER

July 13th, 2012

Cornish independent family brewers, St Austell Brewery have launched their first cider into the market.

Copper Press, which launched on July 2nd in the South West, is a cloudy, quality draught cider crafted by Thatchers at their Myrtle Farm base, exclusively for St Austell Brewery.

The cider is a reddish, copper colour, with a traditional taste and a cloudy, unfiltered appearance.

Bray Leino, part of the Mission Marketing Group plc (the missiontm) were tasked with creating a name, complete brand and trade campaign for Copper Press, which would position the product as a stand alone premium cider brand.

To deliver this set of values for the product the Bray Leino Agency team designed what they hope is a contemporary, distinctive product badge which features colour cues from the product and a unique CP branding device, to unite the marketing across all channels and reinforce the traditional craftsmanship of Copper Press.

Commenting on the Copper Press launch, Danny Crabb, St Austell Brewery’s Regional Sales Manager said:

“We felt the time was right to launch a new, premium cider brand into the market.

“Copper Press is a traditional, yet unique cider and we’re confident this brand campaign will give the product the attention it deserves and provide a strong launch into the market.”

Kate Cox, Managing Director, Bray Leino Agency added:

“This has been an exciting brief to work on for one of our most established clients.

“To be given the opportunity to create a brand from scratch is a dream job and we think this campaign will help secure Copper Press a strong market share over the coming months.”
