NEW COVENT GARDEN SOUP OF THE MONTH CELEBRATES BRITISH SUMMER

July 18th, 2012

Fresh soup brand New Covent Garden is marking the month of ‘Fetes, Festivals and Shows’ with its latest Soup of the Month.

Augusts’ Soup of the Month, ‘Courgette & Camembert’, is the latest to have been developed from New Covent Garden’s online recipe competition.

Consumers are invited to submit recipes according to a pre-selected theme, and soup fans are encouraged to vote for the winning recipe online.

Augusts’ theme, ‘Fetes, Festivals and Shows’, was chosen to recognise the British institution of traditional summer celebrations including village fetes and county shows.

The recipe which was voted number one, created by Lisa Ajmal, is a soup which combines Camembert with the taste of courgettes and Crème Fraiche.

Group Marketing Director Nigel Parrott said:

“August is a key month for celebrating the British summer – whatever the weather might bring.

“Our latest theme was intended to celebrate the traditional, community-spirited summer events which are as popular today as ever.

“Lisa’s light, smooth soup, which can be served hot or cold, is the prefect representation of the British summer. Its vintage-style packaging will have great stand out on shelf and draw summer-loving consumers to the soup fixture.”

Courgette & Camembert is available in outers of six, with an RRP of £2.20.
