HIPP ORGANIC LAUNCHES NEW SAVOURY POUCHES
HiPP Organic, the organic baby food company, is launching the first ever range of savoury pouches with Omega 3 – helping to aid baby’s neurological development during the first two years of their life.
This formulation is a step change for the pouch baby food category, which aims to capitalise on the continued growth of the pouches sector – currently worth £35.5m and growing at 16.9% YoY.
HiPP’s new range of pouches; Potatoes, Carrot & Beef’, ‘Carrots, Cauliflowers & Peas’, ‘Creamy Tomato & Leek Pasta’ and ‘Scrummy Spaghetti Bolognese’, have been created to provide babies with 25% of their Omega-3 requirement from alpha-linolenic acid, found in rapeseed oil.
As Omega 3 is not made naturally in the body, it is essential that babies get it from their diet.

Whilst breast milk provides babies with a good source of omega 3 at an early age, food sources such as nuts, oily fish and plant oils, which are naturally rich in Omega 3 are not traditionally eaten during weaning.
With an ongoing mission to provide babies with nutritious meal-time solutions, HiPP
Organic also believe that the current pouches for 7 month+ babies are not providing the correct texture, at a time when babies should be introduced to lumpy foods.
The range of stage 2 pouches combining tasty organic vegetables and meat has therefore been created with lumps to introduce more challenging textures early on and enable babies to progress through the weaning process.

In addition to the bonus of Omega 3, the new recipes also account for one of a babies five a day, and contain no added salt, artificial additives or preservatives.
Savoury pouches are the latest addition to the range of HiPP Organic products including; 100% fruit pouches, organic jars, refreshing fruit juices with mineral water, wholesome and nutritious toddler tray meals, Fruit Pots, Mini Pots, and the Little Nibbles finger foods range.
HiPP Organic savoury pouches are available in Sainsbury’s from mid June and Tesco from early July. Further stockists will also be taking the range throughout August and September.
