SOUP OF THE MONTH CELEBRATES ‘WORLD UNITING IN LONDON’
New Covent Garden is celebrating the world coming to London this summer with its latest Soup of the Month.
July’s soup creation is the latest to have been developed from the brand’s social media campaign, whereby consumers are invited to submit recipes based on a specific theme.
The recipes are then voted for by other consumers online.
July’s theme was ‘The World Unites in London’, chosen to celebrate the fusion of cultures and cuisines to be found in our capital city, particularly this summer.
The winning recipe, ‘Chana Masala’, was submitted by 17-year-old Hollie Baker, the youngest ever winner of the Soup of the Month competition.
Chana Masala is a blend of chick peas, tomatoes and spinach spiced with cayenne pepper and ground cumin, and is described as ‘delicious and spicy’ by Hollie.
Group Marketing Director Nigel Parrot said:
“This summer is all about different cultures coming together to celebrate in London, and this month’s theme was intended to reflect this fantastic fusion.
“Hollie’s recipe perfectly illustrates the way in which our nation has taken different cultures’ cuisines to heart.
“It will have great appeal for consumers wishing to celebrate the uniting of the world in our country this summer.”
Chana Masala is available in outers of six, with an RRP of £2.20.
