The Co-operative Food is stocking the Real Easter Egg for the second year running.
The Real Easter Egg, made by the Meaningful Chocolate Company, is the only Easter egg to explain the Christian understanding of Easter on the box.
The milk chocolate egg is also Fairtrade certified, and supports charity and development projects.
The egg proved popular when it was launched last year so The Co-operative has increased the number of stores stocking it from 50 to 329.
The Bishop of Middleton, The Rt Revd Mark Davies, said:
“‘I want to congratulate The Co-operative Food for backing this great idea.
“There are more than 80 million Easter Eggs sold in the UK every year and it’s brilliant that people now have the choice of buying an egg that celebrates the real meaning of Easter.
“With its charitable donation, The Real Easter Egg not only tastes good but does good.”
The Real Easter Egg is on sale at selected Co-operative stores nationwide, priced at £3.99.
