Muddy Boots Aberdeen Angus beef burgers will be launching in 55 new Waitrose stores on 2 May 2012, in time for the BBQ season.
Husband and wife team, Roland and Miranda Ballard, founded Muddy Boots Real Foods Ltd in 2008.
Viewers of BBC One’s High Street Dreams in 2010 saw the couple pitch their beef burgers to Waitrose buyers and successfully win a contract to launch in 10 stores.
Waitrose then tripled their contract in May last year and are now tripling their listings again this year to put Muddy Boots burgers in 90 stores around the country.
Thomas Richardson, Meat Buyer at Waitrose, said:
“We are happy to help Muddy Boots grow and to increase their store listings again this Summer.
“Their brand and commitment to quality food is inkeeping with Waitrose own ethos and we’re pleased that our shoppers agree.”
Muddy Boots Real Foods Ltd is a Worcestershire based beef burger company that was founded in December 2008 by Roland and Miranda Ballard.
Muddy Boots burgers are made from cuts of Aberdeen Angus beef.
Roland and Miranda aim to rebrand the image of the fast food burger and want to prove that beef burgers can be a nutritious, versatile and convenient meal option for the home kitchen and BBQ.
They promote ethical farming, natural ingredients and top quality beef.
Miranda Ballard, co-founder Muddy Boots Real Foods Ltd, said:
“We are so excited to be launching our burgers in the more Waitrose stores.
“We really hope that the customers will enjoy our burgers too. Look out for one of us in the aisles this Summer as we’ll be doing in store sampling and can’t wait to invite shoppers try our burgers.”
