Atkins, a brand in the weight controlled nutrition category, has expanded its Advantage range with the launch of the Chocolate Caramel Crunch Bar.
The launch aims to give weight and health conscious consumers more choice in the low carb, low sugar snacking category.
The new Atkins Advantage Chocolate Caramel Crunch Bar, which is suitable for consumption on all phases of the Atkins diet, launched exclusively in ASDA stores on Sunday 15th April and sits alongside a further eight SKUs across the existing Atkins range.
The Chocolate Caramel Crunch Bar comes in a 60g format, is full of protein (21g) and with only 0.6g of sugar and 2.4g of net carbs, it hopes to combat mid-morning hunger, and aid weight loss.
The nutritional benefits of the bar make it appealing for consumers who are following the New Atkins diet, as well as those who want to maintain their weight safely through a healthy lifestyle.
The ‘grab and go’ format of the new bar offers consumers balanced snacking options.
Peter Valentine, managing director of Atkins UK said:
“The Atkins Diet has recently scored a 92% awareness rate among its target audience, so being this well known with dieters and weight conscious consumers, it is vital for us to keep improving the product range.
“With increased concerns over health and weight management, more people than ever are focusing on the food that they consume and the effect it has on their waistline.
“The new SKU listing in ASDA ensures that our products are more accessible than ever before and the launch of the new bar shows our commitment to expanding the range in line with consumer tastes.”
The launch of the Chocolate Caramel Crunch Bar follows the success of two launches in 2011, the Atkins Endulge Chocolate Coconut Bar and the Atkins Daybreak Strawberry Yoghurt Shake, which are continuing to gain additional retail listings.
Peter continued: “The Atkins diet introduces followers to new recipes and foods that they may not have tried before, which in turn helps drive footfall into stores and increases the time spent shopping.
“Therefore stocking products that compliment and support the diet will be beneficial to both shoppers and retailers.”
The exclusive launch will be supported through in store sampling across 75 ASDA stores.
