Energy drink Lucozade is hoping to capitalise on the expected huge consumer demand and affection for all things British this year, with the introduction of two limited edition British themed variants.
2012 represents a massive sales opportunity for retailers with a host of big events taking place including: Queens Jubilee, Wimbledon, Euro 2012 and the London 2012 Olympics.
Demand for British themed products is predicted to be massive and so from February and throughout the summer, Lucozade Sport will be available in Summer Fruits variant and Lucozade Energy will be available in a Mixed Berries variant.
Both the new lines will have Union Jack packaging to create strong stand-out and appeal with consumers and in a bid to drive significant incremental sales for retailers.
New flavours are proven to drive additional sales within the soft drinks category.
In fact, 50% of Lucozade Energy Blackcurrant sales and 57% of Lucozade Energy Cherry sales were incremental to the Sports & Energy category, which demonstrates to retailers the importance of stocking NPD from Lucozade.
Lucozade Sport British edition will be available in 500ml, a 500ml 99p PMP, a 4 x 500ml multipack.
The Lucozade Energy British edition will be available in a 500ml, 380ml, a 380ml 95p PMP and a 6 x 380ml multipack.
The makers of Lucozade will also be providing retailers with bold, engaging point of sale materials and merchandising units to help retailers maximise visibility and awareness in store.
Lucozade is investing in marketing in 2012 and the new limited variants will benefit from the halo effect of this multi-channel, multi-platform campaign as well as through bespoke advertising and support.
