GALLO FAILY VINEYARDS UNVEILS NEW SUMMER RED

Gallo Family Vineyards Summer Red is the latest addition to the Gallo Family Vineyards portfolio of wines.

Due to launch in Spring 2011, Summer Red has been specifically created to enjoy chilled, making it the first of its kind in the UK market.

Summer Red is being labeled a “fruity and refreshing” wine, and the lighter style is what lends it to being served chilled.

Research carried out by Gallo Family Vineyards shows that consumers are enthusiastic about the idea of a Summer Red and the innovative chilled serving suggestion.

The launch of Summer Red will be supported by an integrated communications campaign, which will run for the duration of Summer 2011.

Campaign activity will include above-the-line advertising, PR, events, interactive brand experiences and sampling.

This activity aims to give consumers and trade multiple opportunities to engage with Summer Red.

A spokesperson for Gallo Family Vineyards said:

“With a ripe and juicy taste, this wine has flavours of raspberry, pomegranate, and cherry.

“The vibrant flavours of cherries and pomegranate make this a natural to serve with a variety of lighter foods, such as salads full of fresh vegetables tossed with a tangy balsamic vinaigrette, seafood brochette or chicken risotto.”

The new wine also has lower alcohol content of 10.5%, making it lighter still in taste.

Summer Red will be available across the UK in retailers including ASDA and Morrisons and convenience channels including Costcutter, Bargain Booze and Booker.

Gallo’s current wine portfolio totals over 60 unique brands including Gallo Family Vineyards, Barefoot, Turning Leaf, Redwood Creek and Carlo Rossi.
