GREGGS LAUNCHES A NEW RANGE OF SEASONAL PRODUCTS

Greggs ‘The home of fresh baking’ is showcasing a new range of seasonal products, from sandwiches and savouries to confectionery treats, including confectionery products for Halloween and Christmas.

Three new Christmas themed sandwiches will join Gregg’s classics, the first being the Christmas Sandwich, filled with chicken breast pieces in a seasoned mayonnaise, with sweetcure bacon, pork, sage & onion stuffing, and cranberry relish on malted brown bread

The Wensleydale and Cranberry Sandwich is filled with wensleydale crumb in mayonnaise, with sliced red onion, cranberry relish and rocket.

Christmas Themed Sandwitch

The final addition to the range is a Brie and Bacon Baguette with brie with sweetcure bacon, cranberry relish, and mixed leaf lettuce on a white baguette.

Joining the sandwiches are two savouries; a Festive Bake – lattice pastry filled with pieces of chicken, stuffing, sweetcure bacon in a creamy sage sauce with cranberry and red onion relish, and a Brie and Cranberry Pasty – creamy brie with cranberries encased in a glazed puff pastry case with a crispy crumb topping.

Six new additions to the Gregg’s confectionary range are going on sale for the Christmas period, sticking mainly to sweet, traditional treats.

The Star Cornflake Cake

The Star Cupcake is a swirl cupcake decorated with chocolate flavoured frosting, topped with a white Belgian chocolate star while the Christmas Ring Buns are a fairy bun dipped in white fondant, rolled in sugar ball sprinkles and decorated with a plastic toy ring.

The Star Cornflake Cake is similar to easter chocolate nests consisting of a cornflake nest decorated with sugar star sprinkles
and a Belgian chocolate star.

Chocolate Tree Biscuit’s are ginger based with a chocolate flavoured coating, decorated with sugar ball sprinkles and a white Belgian chocolate star.

Seasonal Snowman Mallow

The Snowman Mallow is a toffee flavour biscuit topped with strawberry jam and mallow topped with white sugar vermicelli. and sugar decoration

Traditional Mince Pies filled with vine fruits, Bramley apple and candied orange and lemon peel, and Viennese Mince Pies, deep filled luxury brandy mincemeat encased in crumbly shortcrust pastry and topped with a soft Viennese swirl, offer consumers a choice.

Two varieties of the classic Christmas cake are also available; the Christmas Slice – a slice of rich fruit cake topped
with almond paste, white icing and a holly sugar decoration, and Christmas Cake Slab – a rich fruit cake topped with almond paste, white icing and a holly sugar decoration.

As well the the christmas themed range, Gregg’s is embracing the Halloween season in October, launching five confectionery treats.

The Toffee Apple Lattice which consists of diced apple in a toffee sauce, wrapped in a puff pastry lattice, topped with demerera and freshly baked.

Halloween themed cupcakes

Spooky Ring Buns – a fairy bun dipped in orange fondant, rolled in sugar strands and decorated with a plastic toy ring.

Eyeball Cornflake Cake, a cornflake nest decorated with a sugar decoration,

Bat Biscuit – a ginger biscuit base with a chocolate flavour coating, decorated with a sugar decoration.

Halloween themed cupcakes, and finally a Monster Mallow – a toffee flavour biscuit topped with strawberry jam and mallow, decorated with orange colour sugar vermicelli and sugar decoration.
