FOX’S BISCUITS LAUNCHES CHOC ‘N’ OAT BARS

August 12th, 2010

Fox’s Biscuits, the 3rd biggest manufacturer within the UK’s Chocolate Biscuit Bar (CBB) sector, has announced the launch of new Fox’s Choc ‘n’ Oat Bars.

Available now, Choc ‘n’ Oat Bars have been developed to translate the success that oaty biscuits enjoy within the Everyday sector into the growing CBB arena, and capitalise on the growth in consumer demand for more wholesome biscuit treats.

A bar of golden oats coated with milk chocolate, these new chocolate biscuit bars hope to offer consumers a textured treat to enjoy at any time of day.

Choc ‘n’ Oat Bars have been designed for consumers looking for a simple treat, by bringing a chocolatey yet oaty snack to CBBs.

Each bar is individually packaged within a 9-bar pack, designed to be enjoyed both in and out of home, as Fox’s are hoping to break in to the lunchboxes market, marketing the new product as an on-the-go snack.

Rachel Moffatt, Brands Sector Director for Fox’s, said:

“Fox’s new Choc ‘n’ Oat Bars have been developed to bring innovation to the CBB sector by providing consumers with a new style of biscuity treat.

With successful brands such as Rocky and Classic in the portfolio, Fox’s is an expert in chocolate biscuit bars, and we are confident that our new Choc ‘n’ Oat Bars will follow in their success.”

The new bars aim to capitalise on UK consumers’ current fondness for both oaty biscuits and chocolate biscuit bars.

Indeed, sales of oat-based biscuits in the Everyday Biscuits sector are currently up +8.3% year on year, and the number of units sold in the Everyday Treats sector is up +27.1% versus last year. The overall Chocolate Biscuit Bar segment is also showing steady growth.

With consumers increasingly searching for nutritional yet wholesome convenience snacks, Fox’s hope their new bar will appeal to both current and prospective consumers.
