BAM-BOU ANNOUNCES NEW AFTERNOON TEA WITH A DIFFERENCE
Caprice Holdings’ South East Asian restaurant, Bam-Bou, is excited to announce Tea-Tox: an afternoon tea salon blending chic London style with eastern culture.
Tea-Tox will be available throughout the summer, from the fifteenth of August until the end of September, everyday from 3-5pm
Furnished in French-Vietnamese colonial style, the restaurant hopes to capitalzie on the growing trend of herbal tea.
With herbal teas health benefits being increasingly recognized, and the British tradition of afternoon tea ever popular, Bam-Bou’s combination of the two looks set to entice consumers.
Tea-Tox features fine teas and infusions. They include:
1. Chrysanthemum Flower Tea – naturally sweet with a scent of chamomile (detoxifies blood, helps relieve sinus congestion, high blood pressure and is excellent for hay fever sufferers)
2. Pai Mu Tan Tea – with a lingering fragrance and a fresh, mellow, sweet taste (prevents cardiovascular disease, inhibits arteriosclerosis)
3. Damask Rose Tea Buds – miniature rose buds from the Fujian province. Delicate, light and fragrant (an excellent tonic to relieve anxiety and stress)
4. Giant Unfurling Flowering Tea Bulbs – a selection of bulbs which flowers in the glass teapot in which they it is served (aids digestion, strengthens the immune system, lowers cholesterol, boosts anti-oxidants levels and gives your skin a healthy glow)
The tea sommelier and waiters will explain the menu to each customer, helping patrons pick the ideal teas to suit their tastes.
In addition to the teas, there will be an afternoon Tea-Tox food menu of light dishes such as lemongrass granita with lychee and pomegranate, Caraway seed cakes and a selection of Asian fruits.
Sudawan Siriphan, General Manager of Bam-Bou, comments:
“Afternoon tea, now a national institution, has its roots in the tea ceremonies of the Far East, where it’s both a sociable and relaxing pastime.
Bam-Bou is the perfect place to recreate this ambience – a haven of South East Asian tranquility just a few steps from the bustle of Oxford Street and the West End.”
Spread over four storeys of a Georgian townhouse in the heart of chic Fitzrovia, Bam-Bou is a favourite with a cosmopolitan clientele drawn from the media and advertising professionals of Charlotte Street and adventurous diners from all over London.
The menu fuses ingredients and flavours from Thailand, China and Vietnam, service is discreet and the atmosphere Bam-Bour hopes to provide its customers with is peaceful and relaxing.
The £12.95 menu offers consumers with a choice of tea which can be re-filled and a selection of 3 healthy Khong-Wan (sweet dishes).
Bam-Bou is located at 1 Percy Street, London, W1T 1DB
