THE ISLE OF WIGHT GARLIC FESTIVAL IS ALL SET FOR AUGUST
From the 14th to 15th August 2010 at The Fighting Cocks Crossroad, Isle of Wight, the The Isle of Wight Garlic Festival will take place.
The festival provides visitors with a large range of food, stage and arena entertainment and hundreds of stalls to look around!
This green event is however, about much more than local food and garlic, it provides the family with entertainment, education and supports a range of good causes.
Each year the festival promotes and supports some of the island’s best foods and it’s not just garlic. The festival boasts award winning local lamb, beef, pork, poultry, dairy products, fruit, vegetables and juices as well.
There is however, a huge Garlic Marquee filled with everything garlic. Garlic beer, garlic fudge, garlic ice-cream and more.
Visitors are invited to take time to enjoy as much as they can manage.
Attendance to the festival also means visitors are supporting many island charities, clubs and groups who all work hard to make the show such a success.
The main festival stage features well known music bands, joined by the best local bands to give the festival its atmosphere.
Recent guests have included; Mungo Jerry, The Foundations, Dr & The Medics, The Wurzels and Chas n Dave.
The main arena this year features TITAN the Robot, as well as sheep dog trials and talented pets throughout the day.
Some of the smaller stages feature Magic shows, Punch & Judy, Clowns, stilt walkers and entertainers, traditional fun for grown-ups and children of all ages.
In 2009 The Times said that the festival was “one of Britain’s best food festivals”, something that the festival organizers are very proud of.
