TAYLORS OF HARROGATE LAUNCHES NEW DARKER ROAST

July 13th, 2010

Taylors of Harrogate is strengthening its appeal as ‘the coffee of choice’ with the launch of After Dark, a rich and  full-bodied blend, to meet the growing demand for darkly roasted coffees.

After Dark is a blend of darkly roasted African, Latin American and Indonesian arabica beans, and hopes to fill a gap in the Taylors range for a ‘Strength Five’ blend.

Brand Manager, Kevin Sinfield, said:

“We’ve created After Dark to meet the trend for more darkly roasted coffees. The new blend’s intense chocolatey and nutty flavours makes it ideal for evening drinking.

Our decision to introduce After Dark was reinforced by our latest sales figures which show two of the fastest growing coffees in the market are Taylors Hot Lava Java and Rich Italian.”

After Dark is also the first Rainforest Alliance certified coffee in the Taylors range.

The roast and ground coffee market is worth over one hundred and sixty million pounds and is growing by thirteen per cent year on year.

Kevin Sinfield added:

“Consumers are spending more time at home and as a result drinking more ground coffee, which is seen as an affordable luxury.”

The Taylors brand is currently outperforming the market with value sales growth of forty per cent in the last twelve months.

After Dark, RRP’s at £2.69, and was launched this month in selected Tesco stores and in selected Morrisons stores from early August.
