PHILADELPHIA LIGHT ADDS SWEET CHILLI VARIANT TO ITS RANGE

July 23rd, 2010

Philadelphia Light is adding a new flavour to its range of soft cheeses, Sweet Chilli.

The new flavour hopes to combine the creamy taste of Philadelphia Light with a kick of sweet chilli flavour.

Research from Kraft Foods has shown that ninety  five per cent of consumers rate it a ‘new and different’ product.

The launch follows previous highly successful new product development on Philadelphia flavours in 2010, including the Spring Onion & Black Pepper variant which was launched in February.

The whole Philadelphia brand is being supported by a £6 million UK media investment in 2010, which hopes will help to promote the versatility of the UK’s number one soft white cheese as a recipe ingredient as well as a spreadable condiment.

Steve Mounty, director of convenience and distributive at Kraft Foods UK, said:

“Sweet chilli flavoured products have been very popular in recent years, and the feedback we have had from our consumers has been extremely positive.

Sweet Chilli adds another great option to the Philadelphia Light range, and we hope it will give consumers even more inspiration to use it – not only as a spread, but also in their day-to-day cooking.”

Available from 1st August the product will be available in major supermarkets.
