NEW STIR FRY RICES FROM TILDA
Tilda, the UK’s Basmati rice brand, has branched into the orient by creating a new range of four classic Stir Fry rices: Peking Rice, Kung Po, Thai Red and Thai Green.
Quick and easy to prepare in a large pan or wok, each Tilda Stir Fry recipe combines speciality ingredients aiming to create a real authentic taste together with Tilda’s Pure Basmati rice.
Each new pack serves two, contains no artificial flavourings, colourings or preservatives, are gluten-free and suitable for vegetarians.
Peking Rice gets its flavour from sweet Shaoxing rice wine, blended spices, shallots and red chili. Recommended to be served with chicken, duck or vegetables.
Kung Po Rice combines rich and sweet Hoisin sauce with warm spices and red chilli. Recommended served with chicken, lamb or vegetables.
Thai Red Rice is a blend of red chilli, sweet tomatoes and coconut with a hint of lemongrass. Recommended served with chicken, prawns or vegetables.
Thai Green Rice is made with aromatic Thai Basil, citrusy Galangal and coconut. Recommended served with chicken, prawns or vegetables.
To prepare a meal for two in a matter of minutes, fry the meat or vegetables for a few moments before adding the contents of the Tilda Stir Fry pack and stirring for 2-3 minutes until hot.
The brand is marketing the rice as a quick healthy alternative to a mid-week take away, providing consumers with authentic taste and ease of use while lowering the calorie count compared to fast food take outs.
This year Tilda is celebrating its fortieth anniversary.
The new range of Tilda Stir Fry rices will be available from the end of June in Waitrose stores nationwide and through Ocado, for £1.79 RRP.
