NEW GOODY GOOD STUFF SWEETS LAUNCHED IN THE UK MADE USING BIO-GUM

July 1st, 2010

Goody Good Stuff, a new range of gummy sweets, is being launched in the UK.

Made using all natural ingredients, the product has set its sights on becoming a leading international confectionary brand after launching in the UK.

As well as natural ingredients, a revolutionary plant derived bio-gum is used to make the sweets, which alleviates the need for meat based gelatine.

With jelly sweets continuing to out-perform other categories in the sugar confectionary sector, the new range, which has been fifteen years in the making, benefits from being certified vegetarian, vegan, kosher and halal as well as being nut, dairy, gluten and fat free.

Made using pioneering techniques and natural fruit and vegetable extracts for flavouring and colouring, the range contains no E numbers or FDC colours.

Goody Good Stuff offers mainstream sweet lovers and those with specific dietary requirements, a treat with no added nasties.

The Goody Good Stuff range consists of 8 flavours including

  • Cheery Cherries
  • Strawberry and Cream
  • Cola Breeze
  • Sour Fruit Salad
  • Tropical Fruit
  • Koala Gummy Bears
  • Summer Peaches
  • Sour Mix and Match.

The range has been approved by the Vegetarian Society and was recently short listed for the UK Food Northwest Award for Best New Food Innovation.

Melissa Burton, Goody Good Stuff Director, commented:

“After many years of research and development, we feel that the Goody Good Stuff range offers something quite unique to the sugar confectionary sector.

Not only do we expect the brand to become the popular treat of choice for consumers with specific dietary requirements but we feel the ranges’ exciting flavour combinations, natural ethos and stand out packaging will attract mainstream sweet lovers while re-assuring parents who are buying treats for their kids.”

Hoping to achieve on-shelf standout with its colourful packaging, which highlights the ranges’ healthy USP’s and brand ambassador – the cheeky Koala, the company is targeting the independent, multiple, fine food, health food and foodservice sectors as it looks to generate listings.

Burtron went on to say:

“Although there are many conflicting opinions on the risks of gelatine made from animal by-products, for me it simply comes down to the fact that if consumers have choice between a great tasting sweet made from natural ingredients or one, packed with artificial flavours and gelatine made from bones, sinew and other animal by-products”
