THE ENGLISH PROVENDER CO. IS INVITING CONSUMERS TO CREATE THEIR OWN CHUTNEY

June 28th, 2010

This summer budding chefs are being urged to create their own chutney and see it on supermarket shelves.

Most consumers are happy to leave chutney making in the hands of experts, such as those at English Provender who cook in traditional open preserving pans.

But now those experts are challenging home cooks to create their own original recipe worthy of the English Provender name.

The winning recipe could be made into a limited edition chutney sold in supermarkets around the country.

The winning chutney will be packaged with a photograph of the winner on the label.

Libby Good, who is responsible for creating all English Provender’s new recipes, says:

“People can dust off granny’s old recipe, or create something completely new, perhaps using produce that just wasn’t available in her day.

The English Provider Co.have a wide range of products on the market, including:

  • Condiments
  • Chutneys
  • Curds
  • Dressings
  • Flower Waters
  • Organic Products

The best 10 recipes submitted will win English Provender chutney gift packs, and the overall winner will be awarded two hundred and fifty pounds, plus the chance to see their chutney on the supermarket shelves.

Good concluded:

“We know there are a lot of talented home cooks out there so we are expecting some fantastic results. Latest trends are for more exotic flavours, and many people like their chutney to have a spicy kick. But there are no rules – it’s the publics choice. ”

Recipe’s can be sent directly to English Provender Chutney Challenge, Field House, 8 High Street, Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex, BN6 9TY or emailed to englishprovender@fml-pr.co.uk before July 31st 2010.
