SEARCH ON TO FIND COELIAC’S GLUTEN-FREE CHEF OF THE YEAR
Coeliac has launched a recipe competition in the UK in order to find Coeliac UK’s 2010 Gluten-free Chef of the Year.
Applicants are invited to compile recipes for a three course gluten-free menu.
If they win, the applicant will be whisked off to a placement working alongside Michelin starred chef Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles.
Runners up could also win a set of knives, membership to the Craft Guild of Chefs and the chance to develop a signature dish with Sodexo.
Judging the competition is resident celebrity chef on ITV’s This Morning, Phil Vickery.
Coeliac are also working with the Institute of Hospitality, the Craft Guild of Chefs, with support and prizes from Sodexo and 3663.
They are urging chefs already catering for gluten-free to apply.
Coeliac speaks out to the public saying:
“If gluten-free is new to you then now is the time to get clued up and get recognised for your adaptability.
Either way we want you to showcase your ability to make food that is just as tasty without the gluten.”
If shortlisted, applicants will need to recreate their 3 course menu in a ninety minute live cook off to serve 4 people.
All written entries must be received by Friday 15 October 2010 and Entrants will then be notified by 29 October 2010 for attendance of the live cook off.
The live cook off will take place on 9 November 2010.
The competition can be entered by visiting the website, available by clicking here.
