The first flavoured low calorie sweetener has been released by Canderel.

With its new flavour, Canderel Vanilla is designed to support a healthy lifestyle by adding sweetness to hot drinks and dishes without the extra calories.

One sachet of Canderel Vanilla is equivalent to 2 teaspoons of sugar in sweetness but only contains 7 calories compared to 2 teaspoons of sugar that contains forty calories.

The new flavour has been launched in ‘easy to use’ sachets for consumers to use in the home or on the go.

The new sweetener is made with spent ground Madagascan vanilla grains and is also being marketed to be addedonto cereals, fruit salads and as a cooking ingredient to flavour and enhance some recipes.

As part of the marketing process, Canderel’s website has a Rewards Programme in which visitors can log on to receive free recipe guides, discounts, free gifts and enter competitions.

Canderel Granules are suitable for vegetarians, vegans and diabetics.

The new product is available now and exclusively to Sainsbury’s stores and costs only £2.49 for a box of forty sachets.
