WASABI A THE TAJ MAHAL PALACE BOMBAY GETS RESTAURANT AWARD

Only Indian restaurant to be placed in The S. Pellegrino World’s Best Restaurant list 2010.  The legendary Wasabi at The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Mumbai has been voted 54th in the top 100 restaurants of the world in the Ninth annual listing of The S. Pellegrino World’s Best Restaurants. This position sees the restaurant climb up 16 places from its 70th position in 2009.

The recognition is made more prestigious with Wasabi being the only Indian restaurant to be featuring in The S. Pellegrino World’s Best Restaurant list 2010. This list celebrates the best in restaurants and is recognised around the world as a credible indicator of the best places to eat in different parts of the world.

Grand Executive Chef Hemant Oberoi acknowledged the recognition and said “Being 54th on the S. Pellegrino World’s Best Restaurants is a great honour for us. Wasabi has been appearing on the list for four years now, and this year it is the only Indian restaurant to have received this recognition. It reiterates our place among gourmands at the global platform, and is testament to the highest standard of an authentic culinary experience that we offer our guests”.

Grand Executive Chef Hemant Oberoi’s Wasabi at The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower offers its guests an opportunity to discover the hidden secrets of the exquisite and authentic Japanese culinary treasures. The menu specially crafted by Chef Oberoi has seen his personal attention to detail in the cuisine.

In its latest re-incarnation, Wasabi sees the old menu retained, within delectable additions of 14 new dishes, including new kinds of sushi, salads, cold dishes and even an authentic Japanese Curry. The menu is designed to cater to the international and Indian palate and keep guests coming back for more.

The astounding success of Wasabi in Mumbai, New Delhi, saw the opening of the restaurant in 2008 in The Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi where it continues to cater to the food connoisseur’s in the nation’s capital with substance and style.
