MY SECRET KITCHEN CLAIM TO HAVE A SOLUTION TO RAINY BBQS

May 26th, 2010

My Secret Kitchen have launched a solution to eliminate the British Summer BBQ issue. Rain.

The company have released an oak smoked extra virgin rapeseed oil that can be brushed onto meats and vegetables before grilling to produce a BBQ smoke effect but indoors.

Phil Moran, Co-Founder of My Secret Kitchen says of the venture:

“Let’s face it, the latest announcement from the forecasters is a record breaking hot summer, so we know we’re in for a wet one”

My Secret Kitchen is the UK’s first nationwide food and drink tasting company, and was started by husband-and wife-team, Clare and Phil Moran The have taken on the business concept of home demonstration parties and turned it into a food tasting evening, where the host and his/her friends have can experiencing different foods and sharing recipe ideas.

The new oil aims to allow hosts to produce BBQ’ed meat despite rainy conditions. Moran says:

“We’ve taken rapeseed that has been harvested and pressed in the Sussex countryside and then cold smoked for 24 hours just down the road from where it was originally grown.

The flavour is not as strong as olive oil and so lends itself to a multitude of uses not just the BBQ effect. we’ve tried it on mashed potatoes and salads, in fact anywhere where you want a lovely smoky taste, it’s delicious.”

As well as claiming to solve British weather problems, My Secret Kitchen have created their own Mango Mojito Dessert Sauce. The flavours of mint and lime (plus a little rum) and the addition of mango pulp are combined to create the new sauce.

Clare Moran, co-founder of My Secret Kitchen says of the product:

“It’s delicious when used to make a dressing for fruit salads or a mojito sorbet, or as an accompaniment to summer desserts. What is out there that you can put on a fruit salad to liven it up and yet is still healthy and delicious?”

All My Secret Kitchen products are free of artificial colours and flavours, and the company believes in a sustainable spirit of business.
