BURGER KING UNVEILS NEW DESIGN AT BIRMINGHAM AIRPORT
Food Travel specialists, SSP UK has unveiled Burger King’s new restaurant design at Birmingham Airport, as part of its catering redevelopment.
Already in place at about 60 locations around the world, Birmingham Airport’s landside restaurant is the UK’s first airport to showcase the improved format and is one of a number of redesigned restaurants to open by the end of this year.
The new concept aims to encourage increased dwell time as opposed to ‘grab and go’.
Richard Gill, Head of Market Development – Commercial, for Birmingham Airport said ‘We’re delighted to be the first UK Airport to have the new design which looks great and will be popular with passengers, visitors and staff. We are undertaking major changes to our terminal facilities and over the coming 12 months people will see significant improvements to our retail and catering offer.”’
Sarah Power, Marketing Director – UK and Ireland for BURGER KING® says, “This new restaurant design is a clear departure from our existing formats, giving BURGER KING® customers a fresh and contemporary take on the traditional American diner. The 20/20 roll out will continue throughout the UK over the coming years, with each new opening showcasing BURGER KING®’s vision for the future.”
Having recently opened an Upper Crust in March, SSP UK also operates SOHO Coffee Company, the Vue Bar and Yates at Birmingham Airport with an M&S Simply Food opening later this year.
