LAVAZZA PROMOTES FLAT WHITE COFFEE MADE AT HOME
Lavazza says If you’ve tried the much hyped flat white on the high street recently, chances are you’ve fallen in love with this small and mighty coffee.
The flat white, which is made with 2 shots of premium espresso and topped with smooth, velvety steamed milk, is an intensely flavoured coffee, that is much smaller and less milky than a latte or cappuccino.
Lavazza continues … “The Lavazza A Modo Mio coffee system, meaning ‘my way’, provides an easy way to recreate full bodied, aromatic Italian coffee at the press of a button in your own home. Different to other at home systems, the Lavazza A Modo Mio combines capsule technology and premium Lavazza coffee with an integrated steam arm that is the perfect tool for achieving the precise milk texture required for the flat white.
Roberto Monteregge, Head of Training at Lavazza UK explains exactly how to get the texture of the milk just right for the flat white:
“Place the nozzle to the side of the jug just beneath the surface of the milk and turn the steam button on. By holding the nozzle to the side of the jug you force the milk to spin. Then gently move the jug downwards till you hear a ch-ch-ch sound, hold the jug so you hear this noise for about 10 seconds, then raise the jug so that the nozzle is beneath the surface once again. Maintain this position until you have reached the desired temperature i.e. the jug is hot to the touch, then turn off the steam. Wipe the nozzle immediately with a wet cloth. Take the jug with the milk and tap the base on a hard surface to burst any unwanted bubbles and then spin the milk within the jug to create a shiny, smooth and creamy texture.
