LANDMARK AGREEMENT WITH WWF ON SUSTAINABLE FISHERIES
Members of the Food and Drink Federation’s (FDF)1 Seafood Group have been instrumental in concluding an important agreement with WWF on a shared vision for the reform of Europe’s Common Fisheries Policy2.
The shared vision will be launched at today’s Seafood Expo in Brussels and has been jointly produced by AIPCE (the European Fish Processors Association)3, Eurocommerce (representing European retailers)4 and the WWF (World Wildlife Fund).
Andrew Kuyk, FDF Director of Sustainability says:
“FDF is working closely with its members in support of a reformed common fisheries policy which meets consumers’ needs while ensuring the sustainability of stocks. The principles set out by WWF in collaboration with European processors and retailers represent an important signal to policy makers about the direction reform should take.”
The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) is the voice of the food and drink manufacturing industry – the UK’s largest manufacturing sector. For more information about FDF and the industry we represent visit: www.fdf.org.uk.
