HANDY PACKS FROM HEINZ MAYO
The UK’s sauces market leader, Heinz, is introducing a Handy Pack format for its mayonnaise, following the recent success of Heinz Salad Cream Handy Packs. The small bottle is aimed at new and existing users of mayonnaise, and is ideal for ‘on the go’ occasions, such as picnics or popping into lunch boxes.
Designed to coincide with the key summer BBQ season, Heinz Mayo Delicious Classic and Heinz Mayo Creamy Light Handy Packs are on shelf this month with a RSP of £1.15. Heinz is introducing the new mayonnaise format as part of its commitment to drive value in the ambient dressings category, while responding to consumer demand for practical, easy to use products.
Nicky Cummerfield, Senior Brand Manager for Heinz Mayo, said: “Last summer, Heinz Salad Cream Handy Packs provided 3.5% incremental growth to the Salad Cream category.[1] We know that mayonnaise is very popular during the summer months and the smaller Handy Pack format is a great size for Heinz to drive trial. The Handy Packs will encourage new users to try the range, whilst giving current consumers a convenient way to extend their usage of Heinz Mayo.”
“Mayonnaise is current performing well in the ambient dressings market, with a 8.03% volume growth in the last year with Heinz Mayo delivering 22.74% volume growth.[2] The introduction of Heinz Mayo Handy Packs highlights our continued commitment to driving category growth,” concluded Nicky Cummerfield.
“We will continue to identify emerging trends and develop strong products that meet consumer requirements.”
