COOK ROASTBEEF ON FRIDAY 23RD FOR ST GEORGE’S DAY

April 14th, 2010

bessiesThe thoughts of Roast Beef without Yorkshire pudding is just plain silly, so Aunt Bessies is championing the making of this British classic.

The frozen Yorkshires might not be quite the traditional from-scratch way of going about things, but many British cooks struggle to get their Yorkshires light and fluffy every time.  It’s something to do with the type of flour, the amount of whipping, and the heat of the fat, so we think it’s OK to cheat a bit and plump for the frozen, especially as they only take four minutes.

Aunt Bessies is quite an innovator and have really developed the brand so that they “own” roast dinner.

The company says “For the perfect addition to your family roast try Aunt Bessie`s range of tasty vegetable accompaniments, including Aunt Bessie’s Mashed Carrot and Swede, Aunt Bessie’s Cauliflower Cheese or Aunt Bessie’s Honey Glazed Roast Parsnips –delicious and convenient.

For those of you with a sweet tooth finish off the feast with one of Aunt Bessie’s traditional English puddings. The range includes Aunt Bessie’s Bramley Apple Crumble, Aunt Bessie’s Jam Roly Poly and Aunt Bessie’s Spotted Dick, delicious served on their own or with lashings of Aunt Bessie’s Dairy Custard”.

Aunt Bessies will be explaning more about their brand, and how they innovate at The FDIN Launching Winning Products Seminar on the 3rd June at Daventry, Northants.  For more information click here.
