Twinings Everyday will carry the Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal across the range, including its dedicated foodservice products further demonstrating the brand’s commitment to actively supporting sustainable farming.

Commenting on the Rainforest Alliance relationship, Heather Hartridge, Twinings Head of Brand says,
“We’re extremely committed as a brand to identifying ways we can improve the sustainability of our tea products, whilst still offering caterers and their customers the same great tasting blends. This is what our customers expect and we believe it is our responsibility as a leading foodservice authority to deliver against these expectations.”

With a growing demand amongst consumers for greater transparency in the sourcing activities and sustainability initiatives of what they eat and drink, Twinings Everyday enables foodservice operators to demonstrate their ethical credentials without compromising on quality or taste.

The Rainforest Alliance collaboration is a continuation of Twinings’ ongoing CSR program. As well as the brand’s overriding aim to source 100% of its Everyday tea from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ estates by 2015, Twinings is also a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP). The ETP has a vision for a thriving tea industry which is socially just and environmentally sustainable and Twinings has been working closely with the organisation since it launched in 1997.

Twinings Everyday tea is made from only the finest Assam and Kenyan teas and is blended to deliver a premium quality tea with a brighter taste.

  1. Stephen Why Says:

Big up to Twinings for contributing to sustainable farming. Nicely ethical and green.
However set against this is the fact that Twinings are axing 400 profitable UK jobs and building a plant in Poland.
Packaged tea from Poland will be trucked across Europe to western European countries, a much greater distance than it is currently trucked from Andover UK.
It’s not particularly ethical to transfer profitable UK jobs to Poland and not particularly green to increase the number of food miles needed to truck your products to customers.
