KETTLE CHIPS LAUNCHES VARIANTS FOR SUMMER
KETTLE Chips is introducing new, improved versions of three classic flavours, along with a new summer seasonal flavour to its range of delicious hand cooked chips in the UK.
The Sweet Chilli seasoning has been enhanced and refreshed by in-house chef Chris Barnard, while Sour Cream & Onion and Smoky Barbecue are new editions to the KETTLE Chips range. Sweet Red Pepper Salsa KETTLE Chips also
launches as a limited edition flavour for summer 2010.
We are told Chris Barnard spent a year in the KETTLE Chips kitchen and talking to consumers to find these perfect flavour combinations. Sweet Chilli KETTLE Chips now contain the coolness of sour cream to balance the sweet chilli hit in an innovative, moreish combination.
It is reported that Chris listened to feedback from Honey Barbecue fans calling for a smokier version of this favourite KETTLE® Chips seasoning. Smoky Barbecue KETTLE Chips will replace Honey Barbecue to deliver a smoky yet sweet seasoning made from a blend of real hickory smoke, tomato and honey.
New Sour Cream and Onion KETTLE Chips (replacing Sour Cream and Chive) have been developed to deliver a fresh, clean eating experience. After testing numerous different onion varieties, KETTLE Chips decided that the subtle yet zingy tones of spring onion worked best with light, creamy taste of sour cream in this classic chip seasoning.
Chris explained,
“We constantly review and improve our products to make them the best they can be and we love to get our customers involved in this process. As with all our products I’ve sourced the very best ingredients I can find to improve three of our classic seasonings and give them a bit of added zap and interest. We’re delighted with the results.” 2010’s summer seasonal product, Sweet Red Pepper Salsa KETTLE Chips, was developed to introduce a red pepper seasoning to the KETTLE Chips range. Tasting great on their own or with a sour cream and sweet chilli dip, they wanted to create a flavour that would be the perfect accompaniment to summer barbeques and eating
outdoors.
As Chris commented “Peppers contain a natural sweetness that perfectly complements the taste of the tomato in this seasoning. The fresh flavours really come through and the sweet pepper contrasts with the slight sharpness of the onion, garlic and herbs of the salsa.” As with all KETTLE Chips, these flavours are made from the finest potatoes and hand-cooked in batches, using sunflower oil.
The new products will be available in store from March onwards.
