GREENCORE LAUNCHES WEIGHT WATCHERS MEALS WEBSITE

Greencore will launch a new Weight Watchers Meals website www.weightwatchersmeals.co.uk this month featuring video clips and a meet the chef feature designed to show customers how Weight Watchers meals are prepared using store cupboard ingredients to make tasty, satisfying dishes.

The website launch builds on the development of a number of new recipes and stylish new packaging launched in January 2010. These developments are all part of an extensive program of brand support, including improved recipes across the range and an investment of more than £150K in new product development and innovation with a similar level of financial support for marketing activity.

Claire Webber, Greencore Brand Manager for Weight Watchers said; “The new website has been designed to give consumers a real insight into how are meals are developed and made. We’re keen to show that our tasty recipes use techniques and ingredients just like the ones you would chose at home. So there will be interviews with our development chefs and videos of the processes they go through when developing a meal alongside a video tour of the factory showing the actual production process. There will also be information about all our products and their nutritional values to help and inspire our customers when planning their menus for the week.”

Weightwatchersmeals.co.uk will be promoted on-pack and there will be links to the new site from the main Weight Watchers website. It will include plenty of regularly changing interactive features including competitions and opportunities to question the chefs and apply to be a product taster for new products.

Weight Watchers is one of the top 15 food brands in the UK, and Greencore is one of the lead licensees with a portfolio which includes Weight Watchers chilled prepared meals, pies and quiches, as well as sauces, desserts and sandwiches.
