LINWOODS LAUNCHES IN WAITROSE

Linwoods, the healthy superfoods company, has announced a new listing in Waitrose supermarkets from last month.

Since 2004 the Linwoods Healthy Superfoods range has been available from many independent UK health food stores and pharmacies across the UK, as well as five products available in Holland and Barrett and several products available at Sainsbury’s UK stores since October 2008.

It is reported that as a result of continued innovation and business growth in 2009, Linwoods has created two new products which have been available since January 2010. Both products are unique and one is a UK first; the Milled Flaxseed, Walnuts, Brazil Nuts, Almonds and Q10 is the first food product to contain Q10, a very potent antioxidant which contributes to the production of energy in every cell in the body.

We are told the Milled Flaxseed, Cocoa and Berries blend boasts incredible antioxidant qualities, particularly when compared to other fruit and vegetables. An adult would need to eat a total of 1 cabbage, 3 full broccoli, 6 carrots, 3 apples, 1 grapefruit and 10 tomatoes to get the same amount of antioxidants contained in just two spoonfuls of this new super food!

Waitrose now stocks three of the nine Linwoods healthy superfood products in 150 stores nationwide; the best seller, Flaxseed, and the two new products, Milled Organic Flaxseed, Walnuts, Brazil Nuts, Almonds & Q10 and Milled Flaxseed, Cocoa & Berries.

The company says benefitting from a growing consumer trend towards healthy living and a rise in the popularity of superfoods, sales have rocketed over the last year with a growth of 42% year-on-year from July 2008 to August 2009. Linwoods is now available in more UK outlets, supporting the investment the company is making in the UK market.
