UPPER CRUST ANNOUNCES MEX-FACTOR WINNER

Upper CrustUpper Crust has announced Emil Magnx from Brighton as the winner of The Mex-Factor, a brand participation activity created to celebrate the launch of the Upper Crust Mexican baguette range. Travellers passing through Victoria Station were invited to perform with a live Mariachi band in a bid to win a five star luxury holiday for two to Mexico.

Over 40 performances were filmed and Emil was crowned the winner after the public viewed his video the most times on a dedicated YouTube channel (www.themexfactor.wordpress.com). The clip was viewed over 3,000 times ensuring Emil’s trip to sunnier climes. The Mex-Factor channel, over a total of three weeks of voting, received in excess of 15,000 votes and saw the contestants setting up Facebook groups to generate support.

Upper Crust Brand Manager, Britta Ashu comments, “We are delighted with the response to Mex-Factor and the way day-to-day travellers engaged with the brand. On the day, Victoria station was swept into a fiesta frenzy thanks to the truly entertaining performances from everyone that took part, but there can only be one winner! Watching the video views rise over the weeks has been inspirational. Contestants have been truly harnessed the power of the internet to spread the message and increase their viewing figures.”

The launch was also celebrated countrywide with a business card drop at all Upper Crusts, giving customers the opportunity to win a luxury holiday for two to Mexico. Ashley Mackie from Oxford was selected at random and will also be leaving the snow behind and jetting off to Mexico.
