SAN FRANCISCO FANCY FOOD SHOW THIS WEEK

January 20th, 2010

Fancy Food ShowSan Francisco was home again to the 35th Winter Fancy Food Show.  This year it had over 80,000 products on display and is the West Coast’s version of the Summer Fancy Food show at the Javitz Centre in New York City.

The show is held at the Moscone Centre, which is a stone’s throw from Union Square and a short walk from Kuleto’s one of our favourite restaurant in the world!

We are told that the top trends identified are:

Good for you.
Coconut
Nostalgic
Gluten Free
Citrus

But other trends which were spotted were fermented food including food which is pickled and food which is smoked.

You might want to take in the show next year, but in the meantime you can watch some US foodies reviewing the products on this video, click here.
