REAL FOOD FESTIVAL – LONDON – 7TH – 10TH MAY

January 14th, 2010

The organisers say “see, smell and taste really fabulous, sustainably and ethically produced food direct from smaller producers… up close and personal”.

The Real Food Festival 2010, which will take place in London‘s Earls Court 7-10 May 2010, is billed as the must-attend event of the year. Celebrating its third anniversary, the Real Food Festival, is more than a food or farmers market.

The organisers say … packed with events for the whole family, including some very friendly livestock, the Real Food Festival provides a platform to showcase smaller producers for whom attendance at such shows are costly and unrealistic. The festival provides subsidised stands for these producers offering the visitor a one to one introduction to Britain’s real food heroes.

“The Real Food Festival is a fantastic celebration of the wonderful variety of food that British producers have to offer, and a brilliant way to talk to and buy from them. The debates, demonstrations and other activities means that the festival has something for everyone and is a great way for people to support the best of British regional food”
Rosie Boycott, Chair of London Food

We are told The Real Food Festival clearly demonstrates how choosing food that is fresh, in season and produced with care not only tastes fantastic but won’t blow the budget either. Speak to the experts that produce your food first hand and buy from them time and time again. A visit to the Real Food Festival could change your eating habits forever. Highlights of this year’s show will include a Real Food Market, master chefs in action, chocolate unwrapped and passionate debate about the future of our food.

The Real Food Market
The organisers say visitors will be surprised and delighted at the value that will be found at this year’s festival – buying direct from the people who produce your food can prove more cost-effective than you might think and you and your family will enjoy better, healthier food.

At the same time, when you buy direct you are ensuring that producers are getting a fair reward for their work and that your money stays within local communities instead of feeding faceless institutional shareholders all over the world.

Master chefs in action
There is a raft of chefs including Oliver Rowe, Thomasina Miers, Giorgio Locatelli, Cyrus Todiwala and Ashley Palmer-Watts and new to this year’s festival are Carlo Cracco, and Vineet Bhatia. All the chefs give their time for free, because each and every one of them embraces our core philosophy of supporting small producers.
